Mezzidakia is a East Mediterranean inspired restaurant, a melting pot of cultures and cuisine celebrating fusions that are centuries old.
To represent this we crafted a bespoke typeface and identity system based on our interpretation of Greek tile work and Arabesque patterns. Many of these are based on plant forms designed to avoid figurative objects and images. We developed the Mezzidakia lettering on a simplified lemon shape and branch motif. Using this as a border frame, inlaid to the main logotype and display text.
Working in collaboration with the Frank Carty from Artisan Artworks and IBDP interiors, together we created hand painted signage for the shopfront and throughout the restaurant interior with jet cut wood and metal. As well as a etched vintage mirror for the entrance.
