Sean Murray is Head of Marketing at the SEC - Scottish Event Campus, which includes the SSE Hydro. A native of Glasgow, Sean has managed the branding and marketing for major festivals, events and bids, destination and venue marketing for various high profile projects.
In the position for 10 years, Sean has been responsible for the SEC rebrand and looks after B2C ticketing and B2B marketing across the business for Live Entertainment, Conferences and Exhibitions. Prior to this, Sean delivered the ‘Back the Bid’ campaign for the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games Bid.
His history across festivals and events started with his marketing of Glasgow 1999: UK City of Architecture and Design, a position which then led to his role in delivery of festival program development; marketing; communication; branding and evaluation for major event and festival program which was designed to generate positive economic impact for the city. The festivals involved in the project include the Glasgow Film Festival, Glasgow Comedy Festival and Merchant City Festival. Sean is a regular contributor across various universities across branding, marketing, destination marketing and event management.
Sean lives in Glasgow’s west end with his wife and daughter, and enjoys travelling, eating out and loves a live event.
