MT Rainey OBE

Glasgow born MT ( Mary Teresa) Rainey is a widely known and respected leader and entrepreneur in the UK Creative Industries and currently has a portfolio of Non Executive roles in the private sector and the Arts.
She is currently a Non-Executive Director of Hays plc, Charlotte St Partners Ltd and Clearchannel Outdoor Holdings Inc, listed on the New York Stock Exchange. She recently completed a six year term as a Non-Executive Director of Channel 4 Television, the latter two years as Deputy Chair. She was also a Non-Executive Director of AIM listed Pinewood Group till it was taken private in late 2015. In the past she has served as a Non-Executive Director with WH Smith plc and with STV plc.
For the past four years she has been Co-Chair of the Development Board of 14-18Now, the highly acclaimed arts commissioning organisation set up to commemorate the centenary of the First World War. She also served nine years (’08-‘17) as Vice Chair of Creative Skillset, the UK Sector Skills Council for the Creative Industries.
From 2006 she was an investor in and Executive Chairman of the digital strategy agency Th_nk which was recently sold to U.S. consulting firm EPAM.
Her executive career was spent in the Advertising Industry where, after a decade at Chiat/Day in the U.S., she returned to London and founded the highly successful agency Rainey Kelly Campbell Roalfe, now part of the WPP Group.
MT is a member and former President of The Thirty Club of London, a member and former Chair of the Marketing Group of Great Britain, and a Fellow of The Marketing Society. She was recently honoured with an OBE for services to Advertising in the 2015 Queen’s Birthday Honours List.
