Papa Bois Rum

Named after Caribbean folklore’s Protector of the Forest, Papa Bois is an ultra-premium cask-aged rum blend, created from renowned distilleries in the Caribbean. Single cask-aged rums from distilleries all over the Caribbean are selected for use in blending small batches of Papa Bois rum which are matured in Scotch whisky casks. We wanted to create a 3 dimensional piece to reflect the mythical story of Papa Bois - a packaging piece that we could literally peer into. This ensures that the rich liquid inside is central to the idea and it also encourages the consumer to engage with the bottle. We chose a decanter style bottle that would allow us to create a displacement, or parallax effect, as the product is turned in the hand. To keep costs at a minimum, we used a generic glass bottle with transfer etching effect and a reverse printed scene - with paper labels to denote regions and cask type.
