Summary
Paper Igloo is a genuinely sustainable architecture practice based in Scotland. For nearly 20 years, they’ve had the same ethos: their homes are forever. That’s down to the way they’re designed – with resilience, sustainability and thoughtfulness.
Run by Mhairi and Martin, they believe in a holistic approach to sustainability. From using natural materials, to landscaping that protects and increases biodiversity – there are so many factors to creating genuinely sustainable and resilient architecture. The duo design all of their new builds to the Passivhaus Standard – a practice that reduces energy demand and prioritises comfort. And they’ve even crafted their own set of sustainability standards that they follow on every build.
Every Paper Igloo home is different, but they always have one thing in common: they’re all built well, for good. Their designs make a house a home – one that’s designed for the environment, for the future, for comfort, for good, and for the client.
Need designed the practice’s new brand, website and a range of communications to confidently and clearly express Paper Igloo’s ethos in a way that’s as contemporary and beautiful as their work. Avoiding the look and feel of firms that practice greenwashing, Paper Igloo’s methodology and work now does the talking – elevated with a visual identity and written tone that’s professional, knowledgeable and trustworthy.
