Summary
My work is driven by collaboration and a want to push my craft. I led with collaboration cause I put a lot of value in my peers and what they have taught me over the years through the work we have shaped together. My design career so far has been defined by a lot of change but one consistent is how lucky I am to have worked alongside and known so many rad creatives who have shaped the woman I am today.
Currently I work within the team at STV Creative. Where alongside the creatives we build TV campaigns both big and small. It is here that my motion skills have really grown from when I joined the industry in 2019 after graduating from City of Glasgow College. In the past year I have animated full TV spots such as a recent 80's informercial inspired advert alongside providing motion identities for various campaigns and content.
Community is a big pillar in my life. Like many designers my life and career was impacted considerably by the pandemic years which led me to starting up a support group calling Trying Together alongside designers Phoebe & Mook. We wanted to create a safe space where creatives could support one another through the various highs and lows of life. With the sole aim that if it helps just one person it will have all been worthwhile. So I'm beyond proud that this space still runs today based in The Glasgow Zine Libary were we continue to do our best to support creatives who need it.
And off the back of this and seeing the impact connecting people can have I started up a community event called Unknown Errors with my parter Yexabel which is built around facilitating open and vulnerable discussion using the subject of failure as a jumping off point. It is here that my craft has most grown in building out the various motion and print identities for this space that have become a personal playground to experiment with motion ideas and treatments. Its in these motion experiments that I recognise how much my confidence as a designer has grown. And also how wonderful it is to see that my craft and love of community can work so closely together to help facilitate spaces aimed towards trying to help.
And in summary that is me a woman who is trying.
