Danish jewellery manufacturer and retailer Pandora is to leave Glasgow tickled pink after alighting on Buchanan Street for its latest store.

A series of shopfront alterations will see the brand freshen up an unoccupied B-listed unit at 78 Buchanan Street, applying a painted pink render to the current stonework.

Sitting behind a new glazed facade and double entrance doors, the store will position an LED panel and black trimmed signage to the street, with feature interior pink tiles matching the facade treatment.

In a planning statement, real estate adviser Newsteer wrote: “The building on the site forms part of a wider terrace built in the early 19th century, which is noted for its historical and architectural importance.

“In line with the commercial character of Buchanan Street, it is important for shops to establish a recognisable brand identity and eye-catching design on this busy, commercial and internationally renowned high street. The proposal has been designed to integrate Pandora’s branding into the commercial character of the area.”

Internally, there are no surviving heritage features, permitting a full reconfiguration of the floorplate, including the repositioning of non-original stairs.
