Artizan Centre

West Dunbartonshire Council is offering Dumbarton residents a say on a proposed town centre sculpture park.

Artist Alex Allan has been commissioned to design the public artwork, a product of a series of workshops, including with pupils at Dumbarton Academy and members of the Rock Bowling Club and Dumbarton Castle Society.

Councillor David McBride commented: “Seeing our young people transform objects which they discovered on the foreshore into art is inspiring. These workshops have not only fuelled creativity but have forged a lasting connection between the community, pride in their surroundings and the Artizan Centre’s new mural.”

Initial ideas have centred on the use of recycled and discarded materials with a final session set to take place this Friday between 12.30 and 14.30 at the Youth Lounge in the Concord Centre.
