Kirsten is the Managing Partner of Grimshaw’s London studio and, with over 25 years’ experience, is a highly accomplished architect with a portfolio of work across all sectors. Her focus on the design, planning and regeneration of sensitive environments within the arts, sports and masterplanning is evidenced in notable projects including work in the World Heritage Site of the City of Bath – the design of Bath Rugby New Stadium and the 600 new homes Bath Western Riverside project – and Istanbul’s Arter Gallery for the Vehbi Koç Foundation in Turkey.

Kirsten has also most recently led the AELTC Wimbledon masterplan and remodelling of No 1 Court in London, Curragh Racecourse in County Kildare in Ireland, Gilston Park Estate in North Harlow, a strategic plan for Hammersmith Town Centre in London and the Abertay University masterplan in Dundee.

Kirsten’s approach – in her own work and within the wider industry – is to encourage diversity in practice, input and delivery and, throughout her career, she has advocated research and innovation to further the industry and is committed towards greater equity within the workplace. In support of this, Kirsten is a trustee of the Grimshaw Foundation, which aims to broaden the accessibility of architectural education to underrepresented groups, and is a founding member of Equilibrium Network, who work to achieve broader gender diversity within the industry.
