Client of the Year - Architecture

Company

Summary

It has been a privilege to collaborate with Wildland over several years across a wide range of projects and initiatives throughout Scotland.

No other client in our experience so fully integrates ecological restoration, heritage conservation, contemporary architecture and community regeneration. Their projects are purpose-driven and focused on restoring Scotland’s natural and cultural richness while creating meaningful rural employment.

Working with Wildland means entering a collaborative process where design becomes a tool for stewardship. Their willingness to invest time, resources and trust creates the conditions for great ideas to take shape, that respect place, value people and honour the past while actively shaping a better future. Wildland’s high expectations are paired with a rare openness, inviting creativity, dialogue and innovative thinking.

Their ambition — rewilding vast landscapes, reviving fragile buildings and developing sustainable forms of tourism — demands input across disciplines. Over time, we’ve seen how this integrated, cross-sector approach can have hugely positive benefits results. From vernacular detailing to low-impact materials, from the return of native species to the revival of traditional skills, every decision is made with long-term impact in mind, benefitting land, community and climate.

Wildland’s work is not driven by profit but by a deep sense of responsibility to Scotland’s ecosystems, rural communities and future generations. In doing so, they have redefined what design-led, conservation-driven development can look like at scale.

Their legacy is already visible in restored habitats, revitalised villages and in the creativity and pride of those who help bring their vision to life. Wildland’s ethos and the full weight of their commitment will bear fruit across landscapes and communities far beyond our own lifetimes.

Wildland exemplifies what it means to be a client of vision, integrity and long-term purpose. Their leadership is shaping a future that’s profoundly hopeful and sustainable.
