The basis of the project and brief at 2-4 Blythswood Square, was to provide 2500sqm of Grade A speculative office space, over five floors within an existing B-listed Georgian terrace overlooking Blythswood Square. The initial competition brief from the client, Tollcross Housing Association, prioritised three fundamental requirements. First, the project would require a particular response to the context of the site on Tollcross Road, terminating the Western gable of a historic tenement overlooking the expansive woodland of Tollcross Park. Located within the Grantown on Spey Conservation Area, the new CNPA Headquarters provides office and meeting accommodation for around 30 staff along with an appropriate and welcoming public face for the CNPA. The pre-existing Category B Listed building at 14 The Square forms the north corner between Church Avenue and The Square.
