Since launching in 2014, Graphic Design Festival Scotland has become one of the world’s go-to events to meet, listen to and learn from the world’s best international design talent. Warriors Studio and Cause & Effect collaborated to create an identity that marked the festival turning five.   Balloons were a central visual motif, combined with objects that represent a five-year-old’s birthday party. The name ‘432’ comes from 432hz which is recognised to be the tone that the natural world resonates at. The greatest musicians, such as Mozart and Verdi, based their music on the natural vibration of 432hz. With such an evocative name we decided to create a set of visual tools that represented the name and significance of it. SUMMER NIGHTS

Nomination

At Glasgow’s Summer Nights Festival, it was vital that the headline act stood out against the white noise of the competition. We took inspiration from psychedelic typography of the late 60s, man. The three-colour palette of blue, orange and white allowed  screen-printing, creating authenticity and a sense of energy ideally suited the summer festival. This screen print posters were available to buy at the sold-out gig – the perfect keepsake  for a special summer night.
